Ludic Synergy and Ludic Fallacy

Ludic is from Latin ludus meaning  “play.”

The Center for Ludic Synergy (www.ludism.org) created by Ron Hale-Evans promotes projects proposing game play and game theory as a philospohy and life strategy.

One area in particular promoted by the CLS is the mentat-wiki, a treasure trove of critical thinking, memory and mind techniques.

Ron Hale-Evans is the author of Mind Performance Hacks, one of my favourite mindhacks books containing many interesting and practical techniques for increased effectiveness, productivity and focus.

As a counter-argument, Ludic Fallacy introduced by Nassim Nicholas Taleb in his book The Black Swan cautions the unwary from using game theory and probability a universal predictor of all outcomes without considering all the (in some cases, unpredictable) influencing factors. I particularly like the re-read this book to remind myself of the peril of too much narrow minded logic in problem solving.

BusinessBalls.com – Learning, Training and Management

In my opinion a good resource for learning, training and management information is http://www.businessballs.com which has many articles on training, psychology, and management theory.

One of my favourite section of BusinessBalls.com is the amusing, interesting and sometimes offensive collection of acronyms used in various professions http://www.businessballs.com/acronyms.htm.
